At Latch & Log, we believe the most sensitive personal records should stay personal. Our application is designed to help you track your baby’s feeding and nappy logs without compromising your data privacy.

1. Data Storage

All records you enter into Latch & Log—including feeding times, bottle volumes, and nappy changes—are stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard persistence frameworks (SwiftData) to ensure your logs are saved securely and remain accessible only to you.

2. iCloud & Family Sync

Latch & Log offers an optional Family Sync feature. This allows you to share your baby’s log with another parent or caregiver. This feature uses Apple’s iCloud infrastructure (CloudKit) to synchronize data directly between your devices.

• We do not operate our own servers for this sync.
• Your data is encrypted by Apple as it moves between your devices.
• You can disable Family Sync at any time from the app settings.

3. Notifications & Reminders

Our "Gentle Reminders" feature uses local notifications. The timing and schedules for these reminders are calculated and managed entirely on your iPhone. No notification data is sent to external servers.

4. Apple Watch & Widgets

Data synchronized with your Apple Watch or displayed on home screen widgets is managed through Apple’s secure system frameworks. This data remains within your private App Group container and is not shared with third parties.

5. No Third-Party Tracking

Latch & Log does not include third-party analytics, advertising frameworks, or social media trackers. We are focused on providing a utility, not building a data profile of your family.

6. Your Rights

Since your data is stored on your device and within your private iCloud account, you have complete control over it. You can delete individual logs or clear all application data at any time through the app or by deleting the application from your device.
